Stop the Silent Screams or the STSS Network is a national support and advocacy network for victims or survivers of Childhood Sexual and Adult Spousal abuse.

The STSS Consists of one central office and six (6) Regional Offices throughout the United States. STSS was created to provide a place where victims and survivors of abuse may come together for:

• Support and assistance in finding exit help from abusive relationships or situations
• Information and resources listed by state for Department of Human Resources Contacts, Family Shelters, Outreach Services and Clinics, Religious Organizations, Support Group meetings and locations
• Information and support for starting an STSS Network Chapter in your area
• Hold Internet based discussions and meetings for survivers of abuse
• Post information regarding lobbying and advocacy for victims rights, legal issues regarding the laws against abuse, and the punishment of those who commit such crimes
• Prepare documentation and initiate proposals and petitions for stricter laws, harsher punishments and tougher restrictions on those who:
  • are batterers
  • Pediphiles
  • Rapists
  • Child Pornographers
  • Child Abusers
  • Molesters
  • Abductors

The STSS Network has one central office located in Alabama*, and, to date, 1 Regional Charter located in Florida. We are seeking to place regional charters in the following locations:

• California
• Texas
• Oregon
• New York

If you are a survivor who is interested in heading a Regional Charter, please contact the Central Office.

If you are a victim, past or present, of Childhood Sexual Abuse, or Spousal Abuse, or are the mother, daughter, or sister of a victim, you may join.

At first, we had thought to keep membership restriced to females only, perhaps adding a second branch for male members. However, afer careful consideration, we have decided to not segrate the sexes, but rather to keep membership open to both sexes. The evil of abuse does not discriminate between the two, nor should the freedom of recovery.

Please note that if you are under the age of 12, we would prefere that you gain your parents permission before joining. In the instance of parent being unaware of a child's abuse, the child will be counseled to inform a "safe" adult, before joining.

If you are a child, under the age of 12, or know a child who is being abused, please contact our S.O.S. Team.

Even if you're not a victim or surviver, your support to this cause is imparative. At present, we opperate on a very minimal budget. STSS Network needs both corporate and business sponsership as well as personal support.
